Hourly Student Positions
Hourly student positions offer financial support and work experience in instructional support, event management, marketing, media, office assistance, and technical areas of the performing arts. Employment opportunities are open to undergraduate and graduate students seeking degrees on the Bloomington campus. All participants are encouraged to complete a FAFSA form, which may be accessed at IU's Student Central website.
Costume Assistant: Works with the ensemble directors to select, maintain, alter, clean, and store inventory costumes worn by the AAAI ensembles; assists with costume changes during performances; apparel design and construction experiences desirable.
Technical Assistant: Sets up and operates sound equipment and staging for the AAAI ensembles; loads and unloads equipment on travel vehicles; travels with the ensembles on occasion; previous audio and stage experiences necessary.
Photographer: Shoots photos of AAAI performances and events; processes photos for various marketing and promotions uses; high level photography skills necessary; must own or have access to professional quality photographic equipment; previous performance photography experience desirable; previous experience photographing the full range of skin tones desirable.
Videographer: Shoots videos of AAAI performances and events; processes and edits videos for various marketing and promotions uses; high level videography skills necessary; must own or have access to professional quality video equipment; previous video experience with performances and the full range of skin tones is desirable.
Office Assistant: Assists with general office duties; answers and relays phone calls, sends email messages; gathers and enters spreadsheet data; excellent interpersonal communication and computer skills desired.
